Wow we certainly had a long holiday weekend as a family. For those who hasn't heard yet (we kind of kept it quiet) Dad was in the Hospital from Saturday until Tuesday. I'm not going to go into detail here but lets just say he gave us quite a scare. He's fine and we are hoping it was a freak one time thing. They did all types of tests on him (4 days worth!) and found nothing. We are truly blessed that he is ok. Thanks to God for answer to prayer.
We spent lots of time with him and Mom at the hospital and well I'm not to good at setting around for long periods of time. (and needed a little break) I set out to find beauty and cool things at the Spectrum Butterworth Hospital and the adjacent Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Here's what I found....
The Giant Kaleidoscope
Crazy Skywalk at the Children's Hospital over Michigan Ave.
And the amazing Outdoor Garden at the Children's Hospital overlooking Downtown Grand Rapids.
We brought the kids up for a visit on Sunday. They Loved the Musical Play area!
As you jumped on these squares they chimed!
The Children's hospital is an amazing place- I just hope I don't have to visit there any time soon. (but with Travis who knows?)
In the end, it was a good weekend. Our family came together and supported one another. Special thanks to Amy and Ed for helping Mom early in the morning, running errands, and caring for her and supporting her during the roughest time our family has had in a while. Times such as this make us reevaluate what is important in our lives. I am truly thankful I have such a close loving and giving family. I am even more thankful that my Dad is ok and back to normal.
Thanks for sharing in our story.
